Selections

My favourite part of the build. I have been browsing and pinning photos on Pinterest and Houzz for a long time!

Flooring

One of the first things we have decided on is flooring for downstairs. We are going with a laminate for durability in a rustic oak look. I love the size of the planks in this range. The colour we have chosen is Brianza in the Classica XXL Range from Harvey Norman. This will run right … Continue reading Flooring

Tiles

I had a pretty good idea in my head of what I wanted to do with tiles, I just wasn’t sure my budget matched my vision! Luckily we got away with using a standard white tile for 3 of the 4 walls in the bathrooms. MAIN BATHROOM & ENSUITE FLOOR – 300 x 600mm Rocky … Continue reading Tiles

External Colours

Here are some of the selections we have made for our External Colours, Below is the Prescott facade we chose which will initially all just be face brick. Once we see how the house looks (and budget permits) we will look at adding some render to the front. BRICKS Austral Wilderness Range in Blackbutt ROOF … Continue reading External Colours

Kitchen

The  kitchen was where we made quite a few changes (ie. $$$!). We have gone for a concealed rangehood with full width handless upper cupboards in Polytec Natural Oak with the grain running horizontally. Lower cupboards are all Polytec Polar White Sheen. We initially wanted CREATEC gloss but couldn’t have everything so the gloss had … Continue reading Kitchen

It is the Melbourne lounge and is pictured below in the leather option. The other lounge is from the Cooper range and … Continue reading Furniture

Hi there! Loving your selections. We have very similar taste 🙂

For your bathroom tiles, can I ask roughly how much of a cost variation it was for your tiles? Did you go floor to ceiling? Did the coloured grout cost you more as well?

We have visited Tile Direct for a pre-selection appointment to get roughly an idea of what was in the standard range and whether we could make it work and trying to work out our budget as we think we are going to need to upgrade our tiles to make it work and feel abit more lux. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Nina 🙂

You must have great taste! We did go floor to ceiling in the ensuite and main bathroom but not in the powder room downstairs. The ensuite was included in a promo when we signed up so the additional costs for the ensuite were the upgrade to the grey wall tile and then the timber floor tile. There is also additional cost when laying the larger floor tiles (ours are 600×300). We also went with a channel grate drain in both the ensuite and main bathroom.

Coloured grout is again an additional cost, pretty much anything beyond standard is going to cost you $$$! Costs are really going to depend on the size of your bathroom too. Our main bathroom is much bigger than the usual as it was actually a bedroom.

My best advice would be go in with a budget in mind. Also have a Plan B incase you need to swap some things out. We stuck with the standard white tile laid horizontally to save some cash and then just upgraded the “features”.
